Joining or founding a guild

Accept an invitation, or found your own guild with a name and a coat of arms.

KeysO

A character with no guild is errant. Guilds are how the realm's power is organised: only guilds plant cities, raise armies, hold territory and wage war.

Join one

Ask any member of the guild (Member rank or higher) to invite you, then accept the invitation.

Found one

  1. While errant, press O. The Create a Guild window opens.
  2. Choose a name: letters of a single alphabet, single spaces between words, three to eighteen letters (or up to nine Chinese, Japanese or Korean characters). A name that looks like an existing guild's is refused as taken (Names in every alphabet).
  3. Design your coat of arms: shield shape, field colour and pattern, division, ordinary and charge. Your arms fly on your city's banners, your officers' capes and your ships' sails, and are painted on the heater, kite and guard's shields your members carry. The window shows them as designed; out in the world they are dyed cloth, and sun and weather fade them.
  4. Press Create. You are its Guild Leader.

Once you belong to a guild, O opens the Guild window instead.
