Roads and trails
Every road and trail in the realm gives +50% movement speed, on foot or mounted.
The roads between settlements are worth taking: on a road you move 50% faster, whether you are walking, running or riding. The bonus fades across the verge, so stay on the middle of the road.
- On foot you run at about 6 m/s on a road instead of 4.
- A horse gallops at about 13.5 m/s on a road instead of 9.
- City armies march 50% faster on roads too.
