The City Builder

Plan and try out a city on your own machine: plant a Heartwood anywhere, build at any speed, and save your layouts. Nothing you do there reaches the realm.

Open the City Builder from the launcher or from the character screen. It runs offline on your own machine: no sign-in, nothing saved to the realm, and no one else is there. You play a builder who can plant a Heartwood anywhere and build with the real build bar, so what you learn holds in the realm. The sun stands at noon the whole time, so your city is always seen in full daylight.

  • Plant Heartwood plants a Heartwood in front of you; until one stands, the build bar's first card does the same. Your city's ground is the area around it, as in the realm.
  • Build opens the build bar. Everything works as in Build mode: placing buildings: walls, gates, closing a wall and Undo.
  • Building sets how fast builders work: at once, or 1, 10 or 60 times as fast as in the realm. Finish all completes every building under construction.
  • Economy: with Free, storage never runs out. With Real, builders take what your city's storage holds, so you can see what a city really needs.
  • Click a building to select it. Then turn it, try its other looks, step its rank up or down (down to a construction site and ruins) or remove it.
  • Save / Load keeps your layouts under names you choose; the build bar's Blueprint… builds one in your real city (see Build mode: placing buildings). Clear takes every building down; it asks twice.
  • Go to opens the map: click or tap a place to go there and build. Leave closes the City Builder and brings back the launcher; on a phone it takes you back to your characters. Log Out in Options and Character Selection in the game menu do the same.
