Farms and livestock
Farms feed the city. Pen farms keep real herds in the fields, and raiders can cut them down.
Farms produce food into your granaries. Place them on good ground: the build bar's survey shows how fertile (or, for pens, how good the pasture) the spot is, and that yield is fixed once placed.
| Building | Produces |
|---|---|
| Wheat Farm → Mill → Bakery | Wheat, then flour, then bread |
| Apple Orchard | Apples |
| Vegetable Farm | Vegetables |
| Hunter's Lodge | Meat (needs forest) |
| Dairy Farm | Cheese (a pen farm) |
| Pig Farm | Pork (a pen farm) |
| Poultry Farm | Eggs (a pen farm) |
| Hops Farm → Brewery | Hops, then ale for your inns |
Every different food counts toward variety, so a spread of farms keeps a city happier than a sea of wheat.
Herds
A pen farm's output scales with its herd: real cows, pigs and hens that graze near the farm. A city may have up to 8 of each kind of pen.
