Mail

Write letters to anyone, and send items and gold between banks.

KeysB

Press B (or the envelope on the menu strip) to open your mailbox. A number on the envelope counts your unread mail.

Letters

Under Write, give a name, a subject and a message and press Send. A letter is free, can be written anywhere and arrives at once. The guild leader and the Inner Council can tick To the whole guild to write to every member.

Parcels

  • Attach up to 8 stacks from your pack, or some gold, and the letter becomes a parcel. Parcels are sent at a bank: stand near a Bursar.
  • Postage is 10 gold, 5 more for each stack, and 1% of the gold you send.
  • A parcel travels from bank to bank, a minute for every kilometre and never more than an hour. The receiver collects it at any bank once it has arrived there: the bank it was sent from has it at once.
  • A city's bulk goods (lumber, stone, ore, iron, planks, hides, food, ale, arms) cannot be mailed: send them by caravan. Mithril and Adamant can, like bars, leathers, gems and other crafting materials. Horse figurines cannot be mailed.

Keeping mail

Mail is kept for 30 days. A parcel nobody collects in that time goes back to its sender; one that comes back and is never collected is lost, and so is a parcel from the Auction House. Collect a parcel before you delete it. A full mailbox (100 letters) takes no new mail.
