  • A line without a command goes to the channel shown beside the chat box, which the open tab sets: a new character's All tab speaks to the whole realm (/global), the Local tab to everyone nearby (/say).
  • Type /chathelp for the full list, each channel's command in your language with its English name beside it: either one works.
  • The tabs above the chat filter what you see. The gear icon chooses which channels each tab shows, and you can add tabs of your own.
  • City, combat, power and system messages arrive in their own channels; you cannot speak in them.
  • Drag an item onto the chat box to link it.
  • Tab completes the name you are typing from the people you know of: around you, your group, friends, guild and whoever spoke lately. Press it again for the next match. Click a speaker's name for the player menu.
  • Right-click a chat line and choose Copy Line to copy it, with the speaker's name, to the clipboard.
