Looting
Press Interact on a corpse to see what it carried. Corpses do not last forever.
Point at a fallen creature or player and press F to open the spoils. Click an item to take it; stacks ask how many. Loot All takes everything at once and closes the window; anything too heavy to carry stays in the corpse, and chat names it.
- A creature's corpse lasts 5 minutes; a player's lasts 30 minutes. A corpse you empty disappears a few seconds later, unless it is a beast nobody has skinned yet.
- Creatures mostly carry gold.
- A fallen player's corpse holds their backpack. What they were wearing stays with them. See When you fall.
- A wrecked caravan can be looted by anyone for an hour. See Raiding caravans and wrecks.
- Rare and epic finds come out unidentified: their colour shows what they are, but their enchantments do nothing and do not show until the item is identified. Lore of the Ancients, Kennings of the Loremasters and Lore of the Forge identify every such item you carry in one cast, and so does a Scroll of Identify, sold by every general store. An unidentified item can be worn, and sells, for its plain value.
