Discipline Seals and Essences
Creatures drop Discipline Seals and Essences. Double-click one in your pack to apply it to your character for good.
Two kinds of find change your character for good. A Discipline Seal adds a Discipline, with the skills and powers it grants. An Essence raises one attribute and its maximum.
- Double-click the Seal or Essence in your pack.
- A window asks whether you want to apply it and says what it will do. If your character cannot take it, the window says why instead, and it stays in your pack.
- Choose Apply. It is used up and your character sheet changes at once.
- Disciplines are taught from level 20. You may carry 3, and a fourth from level 70. Each is open only to certain races, Paths and Classes, and a few cannot be carried together. A Discipline cannot be removed once applied.
- Essences come in nine grades for each of Strength, Dexterity, Constitution, Intelligence and Spirit: Faint, Lesser, Steady, Potent, Greater, Grand, Heroic, Legendary and Godly, from +1 (maximum +3) to +10 (maximum +40). You carry one per attribute: a finer grade replaces the one you have, and your attribute rises by the difference. An equal or lesser grade is refused.
- Creatures drop them. The tougher the creature, the finer the find: Godly Essences come only from the realm's mightiest beasts, the finest grades from champions and dungeon lords, and Discipline Seals only from dangerous creatures and worse. People of the towns never carry them.
- One you cannot use is still worth something: sell it, trade it or mail it to a friend who can.
