Where you wake

Your home first (the last bind you made), then your guild's city, then your hometown. A death in a dungeon wakes you on the surface.

When the guttering ends you wake at the first of these that exists:

  1. Your home: the last place you bound yourself to. That is a Heartwood, set with a Runemaster (see Runemasters: travel and binding), or a town whose Waykeeper made it your home (see Waykeepers: home and travel). Each replaces the other.
  2. Your guild's own Heartwood.
  3. Your hometown, chosen when you made your character.

A Scroll of Recall and the recall powers take you to the same place. A home made at a Waykeeper shows on the map and the death screen as your hometown. If the place you bound to is gone, the next one down the list takes its turn.

Die inside a dungeon and you wake at the nearest settlement on the surface, or at the starting town if there is none, never deep in the dungeon.

Die in the Deep and you do not wake at all. See The Deep: permanent death.
