The Deep: permanent death
One dungeon, the Deep, west of Kudg: die there and are not resurrected in time, and your character is gone for good.
The Deep is a cave under the hills west of Kudg, and the only place in the world where death is permanent. Its door asks you to accept that before it lets you in, and the chat says so when you cross its edge.
If you fall there
- You still have the 35 seconds of the guttering. Anyone with a resurrection power can bring you back where you lie, as anywhere else. See Resurrection.
- If nobody does, your character is lost: you are taken back to character select.
- Everything you carried and wore stays on your corpse, gear and gold included, for anyone to take. What is in your bank is safe.
- Leaving the game while you lie there does not save you: it ends the guttering at once.
- You cannot choose to wake early here: there is nowhere to wake.
- If you led a guild, it passes to an Inner Council member (or, if there is none, another member). If nobody else is left, the guild is disbanded.
The ghost
A character lost to the Deep stands at the campfire as a pale ghost, wearing what it died in. It cannot be played; the only thing you can do with it is lay it to rest, which deletes it.
Getting in and out
You must walk. No recall, no scroll, no teleport and no summons works inside the Deep, and none reaches into it from outside.
