Stuns, roots, snares and silences

How long control effects last on a player, and the immunity that follows.

EffectWhat it doesLasts on a player
StunYou cannot act, and a spell you are casting is interrupted.4 seconds
RootYou cannot move, but can still turn, fight, block, cast and use items.6 seconds
SnareYou move slowly.8 seconds
SilenceYou cannot cast, and a spell you are casting is interrupted.6 seconds

Every stun makes you immune to stuns for three times its length, counted from the moment it lands: a 4-second stun leaves you 8 more seconds in which nothing can stun you again. A weapon blow to the head stuns too, and is refused in the same way. The immunity shows in your effects bar; hover it for the time left.

After many other control effects you gain a longer immunity effect as well, so you cannot be chain-controlled. A root only holds you where you stand: no walking, jumping, dodging, swimming, diving or climbing, and a horse you ride stands still (it can still turn), but you can turn, aim, swing, block, cast and drink. A root is not a stun and gives no stun immunity.

Creatures obey control spells too: a stunned bear stops, a rooted wolf stays put, a silenced shaman cannot cast and a disarmed brute cannot strike. Against creatures each effect lasts its full written time, and a stunned creature is immune to stuns for three times as long, just as you are. Apex creatures cannot be stunned, rooted, charmed, feared or confused at all.
